Short-term fostering is our most common type of placement and is for children and young people who need temporary care.
This could be because their parents are ill or unable to cope, or the child may be going through care proceedings or waiting to be adopted.
Short-term fostering involves caring for a child or young person for a few days, weeks, months or even years while arrangements are made for their future.
It often involves higher levels of contact with the child’s birth family than other forms of fostering, and you may be expected to support a child through a care assessment or introduce them to their new adoptive family.
Over the past 15 years we’ve supported over 1,500 successful short-term fostering placements. Along the way, we’ve built an unrivalled package of training and support so that you can foster with the confidence that, whatever you face, we’re always here for you.
Many of our carers are approved to offer short-term placements. If you’d like to find out more, please call us on 0141 646 4805 or fill in our online enquiry form and one of our team will get back to you.
