Foster Care Associates Scotland’s main goal is to ensure that children have security within their family life across Scotland. Another intrinsic value is the idea and principle that every person counts and our dedication to encouraging diversity within the LGBT community reflects this value.
It’s sad to think that many people in the LGBT community would make fabulous foster carers but don’t consider that fostering a child/young person could be an opportunity to Start a Journey they’d never forget.
For a variety of reasons children and young people need a good home and stable adult(s) to look after them, this can range from emergency placements, short term placements, long term placements or even permanent placements – giving a young person the security of a family life.
If you’re from the LGBT community and are interested in becoming a foster carer, you can be confident that you’ll be welcomed and encouraged by FCA Scotland, our parent company Core Assets has been listed on the UK’s Stonewall top 100 employers committed to promoting LGBT equality in the workplace. You can download our Fostering with Pride brochure here.
In Scotland there are over 1000 children who need a loving, stable home, Foster Care Associates Scotland (FCA) are always looking for people to open their homes and their hearts and make a difference to a young person’s life. We’ll offer you a generous allowance, 24/7 support and ongoing training opportunities, so if you have a spare bedroom and are considering fostering, get in touch today.
You can find out more from our carers and read their stories, they will give you an insight to their own personal journeys. Read Crystal & Katie’s story here.
