How our social workers support you

Our supervising social workers give you incredible support which includes:

  • Regular contact with you, your family and your foster child, in person or on the phone.
  • Arranging any additional support that you might needs such as respite or access to our Children and Young People’s Support Services
  • Keeping records of how the foster child in your care is progressing
  • Identifying your individual training needs to help you to achieve your goals
  • Liaising with birth parents and local authorities
  • Accompanying you to meetings about the foster child in your care

Social work support for your foster child

All children and young people who are placed with our foster carers have their own social worker, usually from the local authority or health trust that placed them. This social worker is dedicated to your foster child or young person and they continue to have regular contact throughout the placement, carrying out visits and making planning decisions.
