A great start to the year
It’s been an exciting start to 2026, with lots of celebrations, events and some fantastic achievements.
We were delighted to celebrate our Registered Manager, Amanda Lindsay’s 20 years of dedicated service with FCA Scotland earlier this year. Throughout her time with FCA Scotland, Amanda has consistently shown compassion, care and dedication to the children, foster carers and services we provide.
We have also celebrated many foster carers, with special mention to:
- Billy and Mary’s 20 years of fostering
- Lauren’s 15 years of fostering
- Elaine and Brian 15 years of fostering
- Audrey and Caroline’s 10th year of fostering
- Hazel and Terry 5 years of fostering
- Agnes’ 3rd year of fostering
- Helen 3 years of fostering
- Alanna and Joseph for their 1st year of fostering
Thank you for all the wonderful work you do in fostering. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and the compassion you show every day.
A warm welcome
We’d like to give a warm welcome to our new foster carers who have been approved with FCA Scotland so far in 2026. Theresa and George and Yvonne and Joseph have joined our West Support Group, and Vanessa and Lloyd have joined our East Support Group.

We are also pleased to welcome a new Supervising Social Worker – Avesha – who has joined the West social work team.

Pantomime trip
We had a look back at our photos from our Christmas trip to the panto, remembering what a fun day it was. Our foster carers and young people in the North of Scotland attended His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen to see Cinderella and enjoyed a fabulous experience. Five families and a group of very excited young people came along for an afternoon filled with laughter, magic, and enjoyment.
Environmental pledge
From January, we hosted a Spotlight Week focused on our Environmental Pledge to encourage everybody across our community to think about how they can make positive changes to protect the environment.
With this in mind, FCA Scotland sent all of our fostering families some “Revive a Bee” wildflower seeds
including poppies, daisies and forget-me-nots, to be planted for wildflowers grow and attract bees and other pollinators – helping us all do our bit for the environment.
Irn Bru carnival
FCA Scotland enjoyed our annual visit to the Irn Bru Carnival in January, joined by 13 families and a group of very excited young people, all ready to enjoy the fun and thrilling rides.
There were lots of screams and laughter, and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and having fun.
Events like these are a big part of what makes Foster Care Associates Scotland special, bringing all our families and young people together to form friendships, support each other and share in different experiences.
Family bowling events
A group of young people and their foster carers at our West team enjoyed a fun day out at the bowling alley. There were a few strikes, lots of high fives and plenty of jokes between them all.
It was a great day filled with fun and lots of laughter, and even a memorable first bowling experience for one of the young people.
We also had a great game of bowling with our East team, bringing everyone together to enjoy a fun day out.
It was lovely to see our young people and their foster carers relax and enjoy the fun. There were a few impressive strikes and lots of laughter.
All in all, a fantastic time was had by everyone.
