Can I foster?

Many people rule themselves out of fostering but actually, all kinds of people make wonderful foster carers. The minimum requirements you need to foster are:

  • You need to be at least 21, but there is no upper age limit to foster.

What our foster carers have to say...

Jan, Rosyth

"Watching young people break their own boundaries, shock themselves and discover a new kind of self-belief because of this is amazing to see."

Shagufta, Edinburgh

“It is a beautiful feeling when you go to bed at night knowing you are making a difference in a child’s life”

Jim, Glasgow

"The hardest part of fostering [is] watching the children you’ve nurtured move on. Yet it’s also the most rewarding when you can see how far they have come thanks to the stable and loving home you’ve provided.”
